Notice is hereby given that there is currently one vacancy on the Board of Directors of the  East Kern Health Care District. The vacancy was created by the resignation of Director Rubi Foley on August 30, 2023.

The Board of Directors of this District intends to interview for the appointment at a Special Meeting on the following date, time and location.  

Date: September 19, 2023

Time: 5 p.m.

Location: East Kern Health Care District Office

9300 N Loop Blvd

California City, CA 93505

The appointment will be until the next general election in November 2024.  At that time the seat will be put before the voters for a short-term from December 2024 to December 2026.

Members of the Board of Directors must be reside within the boundaries of the District and be registered voters in Kern County or San Bernardino County.  Interested persons residing in the District should submit a Letter of Interest to the attention of East Kern Health Care District, P O Box 2546, California City, CA 93505 California City, CA 93505 or by email to neschenk@ekhcd.org. Letters of Interest must be received by 5 pm, September 15, 2023

Letters of interest should include the following information: 

• The name and physical residence address of the applicant; 
• A summary of occupational background; 
• A description of the applicant’s history in the District, including when the applicant moved to the District, activities and volunteer work the applicant is involved in, the particular interests concerning the work of the District, and why the applicant wants to become a Director on the District board. 

The Board intends to make an appointment to fill the vacant seat at the Special Meeting on September 19, 2023.
